Parks in Paris

Paris is home of some of the most bewitching gardens of Europe. Here you can find a list of the most beautiful parks of the city.

Parc des Buttes-Chaumont

If you are looking for parks less formal than Luxembourg or Tuileries, then Parc des Buttes-Chaumont is what you look for. It is one of the largest gardens of Paris, and locals will agree that it is also one of the magical spots of the city. Tourists may avoid to visit, as it is situated in the 19th arrondissement, but it is worth seeing and enjoying the captivating ambience. While the grating paths, waterfalls, temples and cliffs make the park even spectacular and appealing.

Jardin des Tuileries

The Jardin des Tuileries is located between the Louvre and place de la Concorde. It is the oldest and largest public garden of Paris. The designer of the park is the same architect as of the gardens at Versailles. People who visited the Versailles gardens will imagine how stunning this park is. Jardin des Tuileries is declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991. It is a formal garden with beautiful paths, perfect lawns and exquisite sculptures – copies of ancient works.

Jardin du Luxembourg

The 25-hectare park is located in the 6th arrondissement and is a wonderful family attraction. The park was created in 1612 and since has become one of the greatest parks in Europe. There are six tennis courts, playground for children, and unique sculptures. Locals bring their children for pony rides, ice-cream stands, puppet shows, sailing in the central fountain. Also, on the wooded side of the garden you will see people of different ages playing chess. So, Jardin du Luxembourg is an absolutely perfect place for family weekends and a must-visit tourist attraction.

Jardin des Plantes

This park is the main botanical garden in France and home for four museums. It contains more than 10.000 species and tropical greenhouses. Also, there is a small zoo. Ideal place to bring kids both for fun and for educational purposes. Jardin des Plantes was initially a royal medicinal garden in 1626. But in 1640 it became available for public. This enchanting spot is like something from fairytale and appearing there you will feel yourself in a wonderland.

Parc de Belleville

The Parc de Belleville is in the 20th arrondissement and has an amazing panoramic view. From here you can see the Eiffel Tower. The park was created in 1988 and features the longest waterfall in Paris. Here you can play ping-pong, relax and have picnic in huge lawns, or enjoy movie watching under the open air. The park’s most remarkable and well-known component is its flowers displays. At the top of the park, there is a museum dedicated to air pollution. Excellent place to enjoy the evening with friends or have a morning picnic with family

Travel Pitfalls the World

 1.Going Beyond Your Budget

Budget is very important while traveling. It is always a good idea to plan out how much you’re spending versus the number of days that you will be staying in a country. You should be able to allocate a per-day budget and stick with it. Of course there will always be that unprecedented expense. Smart travellers usually get travel insurance during the duration of their travel to cover for unexpected costs incurred while travel such as lost baggage, medical expenses, etc.

 2.Getting Sick While Travelling

The most common travel illness is diarrhoea. Eating contaminated food and water contributes to diarrhoea. You should always remember that when you are in a strange place, stick to bottled or purified water and freshly prepared food. If you are not sure how food is prepared, do not ingest it. However, travellers can also get ill with respiratory tract infections and influenza. Standing on airports or sitting on planes can get you infected with these common illnesses. When you get ill while travelling, it may get expensive. In some countries, expert medical care in most facilities cost a fortune. One thing you can do is to choose travel insurance that covers medical expenses while travelling.

3.Not adhering to safety precautions

There are always safety risks while travelling. In fact, even our own government gives a travel warning whenever we go to certain countries. While we can’t avoid accidents and mishaps on the round, safety is a priority, especially when we are travelling with our family.

When you’re traveling you need to be more aware of your surroundings, especially if you are a tourist in a remote region. There are some ways to stay safe while travelling like keeping your passport, travel documents, cash, and credit cards in a secure place, and spreading them around in various bags just in case one is stolen. You should also not call too much attention to yourself and avoid wearing touristy clothes. While this is not possible in many Asian countries, just try to blend in as much as possible. While travelling, women should always be with a group and not walk in darkened streets alone. While it is perfectly acceptable to enjoy and have a drink or two at a bar, keep track of your alcohol consumption. You shouldn’t get too drunk that you cannot find your way to your hotel.

4. Not Anticipating your Mobile Situation

One of the most unexpected expenses that await us when we get back from our trip is the very costly mobile phone bill. This is due to roaming charges while we are using our phone abroad. In order to avoid this, you should research ahead of time and see if you can purchase an inexpensive local prepaid SIM card to get very affordable data and minutes. You can always make VOIP calls or send text messages through Facebook Messenger or Skype. There are also other ways of communicating over the internet such as Viber, WhatsApp, Line, and many others.
